Black Friday Beauty Haul!

Hi lovelies,
I'll just say it's good to be back. I've had a busy couple of days with work, so it's terribly nice to just sit back, relax and write about something that I love. It might have also helped that I've just come back from some serious retail therapy damage.

So it's technically not Black Friday anymore and none of the things that i bought were actually in Black Friday sale, but Westfield had Black Friday weekend sales in many of the shops today. I might go back on Monday to see what they have in fashion sales...

But today I couldn't help but pop into Boots and Lush and this is the result.

I went into Boots to look for a new face mask as my old one from Simple is running out (it is an okay face mask. My face always felt very soft after using it, but i did not really like the consistency. I felt like I had to use a lot to get a good layer on, and I'm not sure if that was the point). So, I took a look at some of the more luxurious brands at Boots. I ended up choosing firstly, the Super Facialist By Úna Brennan Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Pore Purifying Clay Mask. I wanted something for more oily and blemish prone skin since I feel like my skin has gotten much more prone to pimples in the last couple of months. This promises to take out any excessive oils and unclog skin, as well as includes Vitamin E and Acacia Honey, ingredients which I've read are good for brightening skin and getting rid of marks.

I also spotted a Sanctuary Spa Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask. I've been very keen to try a thermal mask, which I've never done before. I've heard that they work wonders, and if I'm honest the "Detox" in the name just grabbed me. I'm sure any one else battling with blemishes will sympathise with this. I'm really looking forward to trying this one and seeing what it feels like when it heats up!

And finally, because Boots had "3 for 2" on all facial skincare products, I couldn't just leave it there, could I? So I picked up a No7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner. I used to always use a toner, but after I ran out of my The Body Shop Tea Tree toner I haven't repurchased one and this step just fell out of my skincare routine. Now I'm determined to get it back there since I've recently been hearing from many bloggers and youtubers that toner really is a vital part of a good skin care routine. So, I'll give this a whirl. What I like about The Gentle Toner is that it rehydrates as well, so it won't dry out my skin now that it is getting cold.

As I said, I also picked up some things from Lush. I hadn't purchased any of their Christmas things yet (in fact, I think the last time I was in there was in July or August), so obviously it had to be done at some point! I immediately noticed the Dashing Santa Bath Bomb, which just looked like pure Christmas and smelled of satsumas too, which is a Christmas scent but also very fresh. I also picked up the Christmas Eve Bubble Bar, which an employee of theirs recommended. He said that everyone's been going crazy for the North Pole bath bomb, which sounded very exciting, but that the scent is essentially the same in Christmas Eve. So I decided to channel my inner hipster and be a bit different :) Christmas Eve smells amazing and will create amazing bubbles. Finally, I couldn't leave without getting a Christmas Hedgehog. It was just so cute, smelled really wintery and amazing, and it  has rose and ylang ylang essential oils which "get to work on frosty moods". The wording grabbed me there again! I think that I'll have a bath now and pop the Christmas hedgehog in, hence it being photographed out of the packaging. I just really feel like a bath now that I've just come back from Lush, and the Christmas Hedgehog I feel is the least Christmassy one so I won't feel like I'm wasting it! Although it's not really too early to get in the Christmas spirit now that it's already the end of November.

By the way, I love the neon pink packaging! <3

I will let you know how I get on with these. Let me know if you have tried some of these products, or if you have recently purchased something interesting!

Have a relaxing Sunday to get a good start to the week! Next week I will be doing a Christmas Favourites type post, so look forward to it! Deck the halls with boughs of holly...

Love,
Maddy-Lou
