Beauty Empties
I've been meaning to do this post for a while, I swear I've had some of these empty products around in my room for over a month. I was waiting to use up some products that were nearly there, which delayed me in writing this post. I'm not actually sure if that's the point of the "empties", but whatever, I really wanted to include specific products in this so here you go :)
I'll start from left to right, logically :) I just ran out of this Schwarzkopf got2b 2 sexy Big Volume Push Up Volumizing Hairspray. I think I might have purchased this a couple of times before, but I really fell in love with it this time around. It works well and holds hair in place without it looking like it has lots of hairspray in it, and it smells really nice. Sometimes, I find that the fragrances in hairsprays are very sickly, but this one has a salon-y scent which is very luxurious. In fact, I like this hairspray so much that I've already repurchased it ;)
Next is my Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover, which I've had since last August. I liked it, it did the job, but I don't always find myself in need of an eye make-up remover if I'm using a cleanser to take off my makeup, which is why it took me a while to use this up. I was kind of using it whenever I was away and doing my night-time cleanse a bit differently (I remember using this when I was at V festival last summer, and there wasn't definitely much of a chance to do a proper cleanse in a tiny tent!), so I might not repurchase any eye makeup remover for a while.
I also recently used up my No7 Soft & Soother Gentle Toner. I don't have anything bad to say about this one: it was definitely gentle and only lightly fragranced, and I felt that it really got rid of any makeup or cleanser residue on my face. However, I didn't feel like it did any miracles for my skin either, so I was glad to use it but probably will try a different toner next. Before this No7 toner, I was using the Body Shop tea tree cleanser, which felt really effective and I'm kind of tempted to go back to that one...
It's already been kind of a while since I ran out of my Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser and moisturiser (I think they were the first ones I saved to include in this post, probably back in March). I remember really liking these two products and I would consider repurchasing them. It's just that I'm really loving my Garnier Moisture+ Match Night Care Moisturiser, and I would also love to try the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish range I've heard so many good things about...
My Super Facialist by Una Brennan Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Pore Purifying Clay Mask has also come to an end now. This has to be one of my favourite ever fask masks so far (to be honest, I haven't tried that many since I hadn't really gotten into using face masks before last summer) because it left my face feeling incredibly soft and I feel that it really helped in preventing any breakouts. It didn't help with scarring though, I feel, but I guess you can't ask for miracles with face masks (or with anything, for that matter). I would recommend this one as well, but I'm not 100% I'll repurchase it for the same reasons mentioned above, there are just too many nice face masks to try...
As a bit more of a boring empty (or "emptie"??), I ran out of my French Manicure by H&M Top Coat. I find myself having to buy myself a new top coat every six months or so, and it was time to say good bye to my H&M one. It was nice, I've probably used a different top coat every time I've bought a new one and I honestly can't really see too much of a difference. This is probably a cheap one though cause it's from H&M, so considering that I think it does (or did :D) a very good job.
Finally comes the product I'd probably been using the longest, which is my Carmex lip balm, just the basic, original one every one has. I got this from a friend for Christmas a year ago, for Christmas 2013 that is, so I've definitely had it for a good while. Considering I've used it nearly every day (it's been my main lip balm since I got it), I don't even understand how it's lasted this long. Lip balms are another example of products I never seem to run out of (I think I've mentioned setting powders and shampoos/conditioners in previous posts to be similar products for me, i.e. never-ending). However, Carmex reached the end of its road (is that even a saying? I don't know, but I hope it makes sense) and I've already started using a new lip balm, which is a Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula in Dark Chocolate (let's be honest, I bought it for the flavour). Already, I'm dreading it won't be as moisturising as the Carmex one, and in the worst-case scenario I think I'll go back to Carmex :)
So that's my beauty-related empties for the last two months or so (or most of them, anyway). I liked collecting them and looking back to what I've used a lot now. I'm pretty sure I'll continue this "series" with other empties videos, I might even include some non-beauty empties next time :) I already have some products I'm running low on that I'd like to include in an Empties post... The only thing is, I was kind of looking forward to getting rid of the plastic bag in the corner of my room full of empty beauty products, and if I'm starting to do these regularly I might have to get used to it... Or find a better place to store them :D
Until next time!
Love,
Maddy-Lou
